Two strangers hop into a Visa RioPOOL and a fun adventure ensues: think sport-themed selfies with 3D animation, social sharing and even the chance for a surprise visit from an Olympian. Visa brings Olympic Games fans a unique experience in Rio and participating cities around the world available through Uber. The goal: to unite riders from different backgrounds, experiences and cities on the road to acceptance.
Here’s how it works: On Friday, August 5, Uber users in Rio, San Francisco, New York City, Mexico City, Santiago and Dubai can enter the promotion code VISAPOOL in their Uber App and choose “RioPOOL” as their pick-up option. Riders paying with a Visa credit or debit card will receive up to US$5 off their ride. A Visa RioPOOL car will pull-up with one to two additional passengers to share in a sports-themed experience, then its lights, camera, action!
Each Visa RioPOOL car comes equipped with a mounted tablet that allows riders to create videos and add filters and features like animated soccer balls, 3D faces donning swimming goggles and more. In addition to the $US5 offer for those who pay with their Visa credit or debit card, riders in Rio may have a chance to score a ride with a Team Visa athlete—creating a shared experience that brings together fans and athletes from all over the globe. All RioPOOL rides will be filmed with the possibility of being featured in a video on Visa’s social channels.
